About Gurupriya

Dr. K. Jayalekshmy, born on the 30th of November, 1953, in Trivandrum, hails from a family of rich musical tradition. She is the grand daughter of the Great Vaggeyakara and Musicologist, Harikeshanallor Dr. L Muthaiah Bhagavatar and is the daughter of Gayaka Ratna Sri Nellai T.V Krishnamoorthy and. Smt Gomathy Krishnamoorthy. She could build a strong foundation in music right from childhood as she has been brought up in a fine musically woven environment at home.

Kum. Amrutha K. S, born on 11th January 2000, in Ernakulam. She is a stage performer from her childhood(both devotional and film songs). Recipient of first prize with A grade in state Level Kerala kalolsavam for Folk song in 2017 and 2018. Secured 1st rank in B.A Music from the Prestigious College, Maharajas college Ernakulam, and 2nd rank in M.A from the same institution under M.G University. Appearing for UGC test. Since 2021 under the tutelage of Dr. K. Jayalakshmy. she has learned nearly 150 krithis, giving special attention to Muthaiah Bhagavatar\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Chamundeswari Ashtothara krithis. She has accompanied her Guru along with a few other students during performances at various venues and in their Youtube channel Gurupriya Jayalekshmi.

Mrs. Anuradha Sankar is a Career Analyst, Corporate trainer and Entreprenuer. She is an Electronics engineer with more than 20 yrs of work experience. Anuradha has been learning Carnatic music since the age of 7. She began her music lessons under Late Shri Ochira Balakrishnan. During her school and college days she was a regular participant in light and classical music competitions and has won several prizes at the district and state levels. Since 2012, she has been learning music under Smt Dr K Jayalakshmi, (Retd HOD, Maharaja\'s College). Anuradha has accompanied her Guru in several sabhas, temple music festivals as well as YouTube video performances. She also assists her Guru in the various projects related to music. Anuradha is also an active member of Gayathri Bhajan Mandali – Edappally Brahmana Samooham (Ladies wing) and has participated in district and State Level Cultural Events held by Kerala Brahmana Sabha. She is also a part of Kalarickal Thiruvathira group, Edappally as one of their lead singers.
